Less setup. More building.
From your first container to your always-on project. Here’s how everything fits together.
Your first deployment
- Create an account and open your workspace.
- Click Create server, choose a runtime, and add any environment variables.
- Open the server’s Files tab. Upload or edit your application files. Node, Bun, Python, and static sites include a working starter file.
- Use the console and power controls to start, stop, or restart your container. The Network tab lists its public ports.
Bring your runtime
Node.js 22, Bun, Python 3.13, Java 21, PostgreSQL 17, Redis 7, and static Nginx are supported. Set your start command as a JSON argument array when creating a server. Java requires your own server.jar. Bind web applications to 0.0.0.0 and the PORT environment variable.
["node", "index.js"] ["python", "main.py"] ["java", "-jar", "server.jar"]
PostgreSQL requires POSTGRES_PASSWORD on creation. Set POSTGRES_USER to choose its initial database superuser. Redis is exposed through its assigned port: protect it with a password using a custom command before storing data.
Free hosting, with a check-in every 3 days
Free containers include 256 MB RAM, 0.25 vCPU, and a hard 512 MB persistent disk limit. Open Renew Server (Watch Ad), let the verification countdown finish, then confirm. The timer is checked on the server.
72 hours
Your container runs until its renewal expires.
At expiration
Compute stops and verified cold storage archival begins.
Cold storage
Files are compressed, verified, and archived to object storage. Restore & renew brings them back.
Your files belong to you
Files in /data persist across container restarts. The file manager edits text files up to 2 MB and supports directory creation and file upload. Stop your container before deleting files or restoring backups. Backups briefly stop the container for a consistent archive and restart it if it was running. Backups and cold archives live in your node’s S3-compatible bucket.
Ports, domains, and boundaries
Web runtimes receive an automatic domain. Other services use the node hostname and their assigned TCP port. Additional allocations depend on your plan. Containers run without Linux capabilities, with no new privileges, no host swap, and isolated networks. Outbound SMTP on ports 25, 465, and 587 is blocked.
Keep the lights on, 24/7
Select Upgrade in your server workspace to choose an available plan. PayNow hosts checkout and manages your subscription. Paid servers skip the renewal countdown and ads. Your files move to an eligible paid node when needed. Cancellation, refund, or chargeback suspends compute while retaining your files; contact the platform administrator to resolve billing and restore service.
